One senior officer who rushed to the assistance of a fellow officer that got attacked by a knifeman received the Monarch's Honor for Courage.

Sgt Tim Ansell struggled against 27-yr-old Jacob Brown following he placed a weapon to the throat of his partner Sergeant Marc Foster.

Brown initiated the assault as the policemen and their third officer, PC Marcus Wolstencroft, were speaking to a driver subsequent to a vehicle incident in that location in summer 2023.

Brown attacked with blade the two Sergeant Ansell and Sergeant Foster prior to PC Wolstencroft incapacitated him with a electric weapon.

The department stated Sergeant Foster used his bare hands to control his colleague's blood loss before emergency responders came.

The new award comes after the law enforcement team won departmental Valor Recognitions in late 2023 and the John Egerton Bravery Award from the local officer association in April 2024.

They additionally received a Regional Valor Recognition in mid-2024.
